After matriculating, he pursued a teaching qualification at Cape Technikon, where he completed several subjects up to his third year. He later served in the South African Police Force, gaining valuable exposure to responsibility, integrity, and working under pressure. During this period, he also worked part-time at Dorbyl Marine, further broadening his practical work experience and understanding of structured environments.
His longest and most impactful career was with the South African Post Office, where he dedicated 34 years of service. During this time, he worked primarily in Sales and Marketing, with additional experience in managerial and relieving management roles. This extensive background sharpened his skills in client relations, negotiation, problem-solving, and leadership.
In addition to his corporate career, he successfully ran his own small business specializing in the sales of CDs, DVDs, and LPs. Through this venture, he built a strong reputation for excellent customer service, reflected in a high 4.8 out of 5 rating on Marketplace.
