Struisbaai

With a 14km long shoreline, Struisbaai has the longest natural beach in the Southern Hemisphere, stretching all the way to Arniston.  

Struisbaai's little harbour and its community of fishermen, with their array of multi-coloured boats bring in fresh catches of fish almost daily.  This quaint fishing village is home to generations of fishing families. 

RESTAURANTS:
The restaurants in Struisbaai specialize in fresh seafood and many visitors have been known to drive for hours to spend a day in the area just to enjoy the 'catch-of-the-day'. 

LOCATION:
It takes approximately 1 and a half hours to travel from Struisbaai to Hermanus and about 2 hours from Struisbaai to Somerset West, going to the airport takes a bit longer with it being a 200 km drive.

There is a Private School in Agulhas called Zoetendal Academy as well as Bredasdorp Primary & Bredasdorp High School

THINGS TO DO IN THE AREA:
In L'Agulhas you can visit the renowned meeting place of the Indian and Atlantic Oceans. the Cape Agulhas Lighthouse standing proudly and navigating sailors for over 150 years is the second oldest working lighthouse in South Africa. The mountainous area of Agulhas is filled with diverse fynbos wildflowers. 
There are several hiking trails that take you on invigorating walks to marvel at the natural beauty. The Two Oceans Trail takes you to the southernmost tip of Africa. The sheltered bay offers activities like angling, whale watching, kitesurfing, boating, surfing, kayaking, diving and swimming, cycling, hiking, visiting wine farms, climbing to top of the Lighthouse, visiting the Arniston caves and viewing the resident stingrays in the harbour. 

SAFETY:
Only one road in and out of Struisbaai makes it one of the safest towns with a very low crime rate.
